Year 2 help Miss Fabri

Today Miss Fabri went to visit Year 2 to see how their lost posters were shaping up. She was delighted to see that they had been working very hard creating attractive and informative descriptions of her long, lost friend, Leonardo. The children asked her if she had found her friend and unfortunately her sad expression answered their question. She was hopeful however as she continued to hear that he was again spotted with his monster friends enjoying his holidays. She decided that the next best step is to use some of the children's work to catch the attention of the community who may be able to report where Leonardo is. Here are some of them. Has Leonardo gone on a country holiday?

Miss Fabri is so excited because Year 2 are nearly finished their 'Lost Posters'. Year 2 have been working hard creating these posters to help her find Leonardo - yes he is still missing!.For those of you who are worried Miss Fabri heard a rumor that he has gone on holidays with his monster friends. He sometimes takes some 'time out' with 9 of his best buddies but he usually leaves her a note letting her know where he has gone and how long he will be away. She is concerned that she may have not noticed the note and accidently picked it up with her books. Everyone knows that Leonardo cannot use a phone so it is up to Year 2 to help her with their posters. Year 2's descriptions will assist others to know what he looks like and will give details on how tocontact the school with any information that may help.

Leondaro loves red frogs

It has been a little while now and Leonardo is still missing. There have been many theories about where he is and many rumors about where he was last seen. Some children said that they spotted him in the hall and some even said that they  they saw him at the shops. This is highly possible as Leonardo loves going shopping especially to buy his favourite treats; red frogs and bananas.Miss Fabri also heard  a rumour that he went on holidays with his other monster friends. He likes going to the country where they enjoy playing 'hide and seek' and horseriding.   Perhaps there is no reception where he is and thus cannot contact her.  Miss Fabri is still worried but she knows that with Year 2's assistance she will find him soon. Year 2 have been busily writing descriptions of Leonardo to format into 'Lost' posters. Hopefully they can show us some of them soon.   

Where is Leonardo?

Last Monday, Miss Fabri went to visit Year 2. She looked really worried and Miss Onorato asked her if there was anything wrong. She explained that when she got to school she found that Leonardo was not in his usual spot, on the book shelf. She described how in the morning she usually says hello to her teacher friends and then when she opens the door to her office she says hello to Leonardo, but Leoardo was not there. At first she thought that he may have been sitting on her chair reading one of the books from her shelf; Leonardo often pretended to be the principal of St Patrick's. When she found her chair empty she started to be concerned. She looked in her cupboard, under her desk, in her filing cabinet, on the window ledge and  behind the door. She even looked in the bin. He was nowhere to be seen. Miss Fabri heard that Year 2 had been learning about how to write descriptions and she thought that perhaps the children would be able to help her by making some 'Lost' posters for her. They were all very thoughtful and agreed to help her out. "I can't wait", she said excitedly and she felt reassured that with their help Leonardo will be found. Where are you Leonardo? Has anyone seen him?

Have you met Leonardo?

Over the year, many children go to visit Miss Fabri in her office to say hello or to show her their efforts at great learning. Leonardo sits in Miss Fabri's office, on her book shelf and he loves to listen to all the stories the children tell her about what they like about school. Sometimes children are feeling sad and Mrs Benkovich and Miss Fabri listen to them to help them solve problems. Leoardo loves to help Miss Fabri by giving her ideas on what he thinks may help some children. He tells her about when he missed his friends or was left out or was worried about getting things wrong and she listens to him too. When the children come to visit they always say hello to Leonardo and he loves seeing them. Leonardo is very shy and usually only speaks to Miss Fabri. She can understand him however many children can understand him also. He whispers in their ear if they hold him gently. Leonardo loves St Patrick's School and he particularly loves St Patrick's children.

Leonardo comes to St Patrick's Parramatta

Last year, when Miss Fabri started as principal of our school, she brought with her a special friend. He was a blue and yellow monster and he had an earring in one ear and funny green hair. Miss Fabri told us that he was very happy to come to St Patrick's with her, however he wanted us to help him as he had a little problem. The problem was that unlike all the boys and girls and adults in our school, and monsters for that fact, he did not have a name. Miss Fabri knew that the children at St Patrick's are very creative and helpful so she set about organising a competition to find a name for her little friend. As expected many children entered the competition and came up with a wide variety of wonderful names to call him. Some children chose the names of their dads like George, Sam and Mardi, some wanted to call him a made up name like Squishy or Furry and some just chose their favourite names. Miss Fabri's friend however loved  just one name and that was the name of a man that lived a long long time ago, a man that was a great artist and inventor, A man who understood that God made everyone different. His name was Leonardo Di Vinci. Leonardo just loves his name and he will be always grateful to the student in Year 5 who christened him Leonardo. Her name is Emmaline. Thank you Emmaline!
